Eric Lewkowiez was a candidate for District 1 representative on the Columbia County Board of Education in Georgia. Lewkowiez lost in the general election on May 24, 2016.[1]

Lewkowiez earned his B.A. in biology from Temple University. He later received his M.S. in microbiology from the Medical University of South Carolina. Lewkowiez also holds an M.D. from the University of South Carolina. Lewkowiez is an assistant professor of psychiatry and an associate dean for student and multicultural affairs at Augusta University.[2]

Three of the five seats on the Columbia County Board of Education were up for general election on May 24, 2016. There was no primary. No incumbents filed for re-election in 2016. David Dekle and Lee Ann Meyer ran unopposed for the board chair and District 4 seats, respectively. David Alalof defeated Eric Lewkowiez for the District 1 seat.[1]
