Eric Martin (Ohio)

Eric D. Martin is a judge on the Muskingum County Court of Common Pleas. He was appointed by Governor John Kasich on August 8, and assumed office on August 13, 2014.[1] Martin was elected to retain his seat on the Muskingum County Court of Common Pleas Probate/Juvenile Division in 2014, winning a new term that expires on December 31, 2020.[2][3]
Martin was previously the presiding judge on the Muskingum County Court in Muskingum County, Ohio.[4]

Martin ran for re-election to the Muskingum County Court of Common Pleas Probate/Juvenile Division.
Primary: He was successful in the Republican primary on May 6, 2014, receiving 43.3 percent of the vote. He competed against Maria N. Kalis, Steven E. Buck, and Susan Montgomery McDonald.
General: He was unopposed in the general election on November 4, 2014.

Martin was re-elected to the Muskingum County Court after running unopposed on November 6, 2012.[6][7]
Education
Martin received his undergraduate degree from Ohio University and his J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law.[1]
Career
Prior to his appointment to the Muskingum County Court of Common Pleas, Martin served as the presiding judge for the Muskingum County Court. He was also previously a partner at the Allen, Baughman and Martin Law Offices. He has also served as an assistant prosecutor in Muskingum County, as a solicitor in Frazeysburg, and as a magistrate.[1]
