Eric Poklar
Eric Poklar is a former nonpartisan member of the Ohio State Board of Education representing the state at large. Poklar was first appointed to the board in 2017. On December 11, 2020, Gov. Mike DeWine (R) reappointed Poklar to another term ending December 31, 2024.[1] On October 29, 2021, Poklar resigned from the board.[2]
Biography
Prior to his appointment to the board, Poklar served as director of legislative affairs for Gov. John Kasich (R). Before that, Poklar served as the director of legislative affairs and communications for the Governor's Office of Health Transformation. Prior to joining the governor's office, Poklar spent three years operating a consulting practice. He had previously served in the office of Gov. Bob Taft (R) and as the director of legislative affairs for the state's departments of mental health and public safety.[3]
