  • The Indiana State government invests more in education than any other budget item. Unfortunately we rank 24th in the nation in education quality. Companies setting up businesses in Indiana need smart, educated citizens that can compete nationally and globally. We must get better results from our tax dollar investments.
  • All Hoosiers should be living in a clean and safe environment. Unfortunately, Indiana environmental laws have been intentionally weakened by the Republican legislature. This has allowed businesses to contaminate our air, water, and soil. Indiana ranks 48 out of 50 States for air quality and pollution problems.
  • High speed internet is critical to the people of this district. School children, remote workers, and modern farming businesses require dependable, affordable network access.
Healthcare in rural communities is in crisis. Access to medical services by general practitioners, trained specialists, mental health experts, and substance abuse professionals is severely limited. The Covid 19 pandemic shows how people in poor health suffer with more severe outcomes or even death.
Growing up in Franklin County, Indiana, I enjoyed working on local farms during the summer. Baling hay, gardening, and cutting firewood provided income during high school for gas money. We learned that hard work was expected and a fair wage was paid. This was a great learning experience that I still treasure.
