As your board member, I believe students’ needs must always come first. I have kept that priority #1 in every decision I have made. Our students need to be able to communicate and collaborate, as well as use critical and creative thinking. Now, with improved funding, Hesperia can be one of the best districts in California! My priorities: • Safety first! If the students don't feel safe, they cannot learn. If staff members don’t feel safe, they cannot teach. • Lower class sizes. With fewer students in a class, every student will receive the attention he/she deserves. • Listen! I will be accessible to parents, community members, and staff. • Guard your tax dollars. We cannot waste a single dollar that your taxes provide. My family has proudly called Hesperia our home for 33 years, and I am absolutely committed to enhancing student opportunities through improved schools. I will work to ensure community involvement in our schools, and an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation among board members. I know our District is good, but we can be great! Contact me at (760) 617-1143, www.VoteEricSwanson.com, or through Facebook at “Eric Swanson Hesperia School Board.” I respectfully ask for your vote on November 8th.

Local Control is always number #1 when it comes to schools. The schools do not belong to the school board, administration, nor the teachers; they belong to the community.
I believe that education starts in the home first. We must support the parents and listen to their students’ needs to help enrich their education.
Students need the availability of Career Technical education (CTE) not only to support their future career choices, but to enhance and round out their possible directions in their choices.
Students must be enfolded in an education environment that exercises communication, collaboration, critical and creative thinking.
The current work force sees the importance of Soft Skills and the ability to be a Self-Starter. These skill set must be practiced throughout the school districts academics and extracurricular activities.
Tax dollars must not be wasted! Every dollar that comes from the taxpayers needs to count!
