Eric Trump is the Executive Vice President of Development and Acquisitions for The Trump Organization and the founder of the Eric Trump Foundation.[1] He is the son of President Donald Trump. Eric Trump was also a member of Donald Trump's presidential transition team, a group of advisors tasked with recommending presidential appointments for the incoming administration.[2]
Career
Eric Trump graduated from Georgetown University in 2006 with a degree in finance and management. He then joined The Trump Organization.[3][1]
Eric Trump serves as an executive vice president within The Trump Organization. He is responsible for growing the Trump Golf Collection and oversees the construction, management, and daily operations of Trump golf courses. He and his siblings, Donald Trump, Jr. and Ivanka Trump, launched the Trump Hotel Collection in 2006.[1]
Trump is also responsible for the global expansion of Trump International Realty and is involved with Trump wines in Virginia.[1]
He has been a contributor to a number of news outlets including CNBC and Fox Business News.[1]
In 2006, Eric Trump founded the Eric Trump Foundation, which benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In 2015, the Eric Trump Foundation Surgical and ICU Center was opened after a 2013 commitment for a $20 million gift from the Eric Trump Foundation.[4]
During Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, Eric Trump actively campaigned for his father, giving speeches across the country and giving interviews to television and radio outlets.[5]
On November 11, 2016, the Trump Organization released a statement that Eric Trump, along with Donald Trump, Jr. and Ivanka Trump would take over the organization while their father serves as President of the United States. The statement read, "We are in the process of vetting various structures with the goal of the immediate transfer of management of The Trump Organization and its portfolio of businesses to Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric Trump along with a team of highly skilled executives."[6]
Donald Trump presidential transition team, 2016-2017
Eric Trump was a member of Donald Trump's presidential transition team in his first presidential term. The transition team was a group of around 100 aides, policy experts, government affairs officials, and former government officials who were tasked with vetting, interviewing, and recommending individuals for top cabinet and staff roles in Trump's administration.[2]
