A proud HBCU graduate of Bethune-Cookman University, Solomon graduated with a B.A. in Mass Communications (Broadcast Journalism). She went on to earn an MBA from the University of Georgia.

For Solomon, who also resides in District 35, this candidacy is deeply personal. For seven years, she dedicated her career to telling the real stories of her neighbors and fighting for opportunities that uplift families. As a journalist at a local Atlanta television news station, she worked to shine a light on resilience and progress rather than reducing communities to headlines of violence.

Solomon’s slogan for her campaign is “Our Story. Our History. Our Future,” echoing a platform meant to uplift the district she seeks to represent.

The South Carolina native, who has lived in Atlanta since 2018, is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She has also served in leadership roles in the corporate sector and nonprofit advocacy, experiences that have prepared her to bring people together and create solutions.
  • Supporting small businesses by expanding access to resources and opportunities for local entrepreneurs. Creating pathways for economic mobility through better job training, educational programs, and initiatives to increase literacy for all ages.
  • Improving infrastructure, including transportation, broadband access, and public resources that families rely on.
  • Ensuring homes remain within reach for working families while protecting neighborhoods from private equity firms that seek to buy up land and displace local residents.
Education, homeownership and equal access to opportunities no matter where someone grew up.
The most important characteristics are integrity and accountability. An official must honor their word and be accountable to the people they serve, not special interests. As a former journalist, I value listening first and translating community needs into results.
My core responsibility is to be the voice for District 35. That means ensuring equitable state investment in our local infrastructure and schools, protecting our fundamental civil and reproductive rights, and fighting daily to improve economic opportunity for every working family.
The first part of my career -- 7 years -- was spent as a journalist for local television stations. In the newsroom, I was responsible for not only finding the news to send reporters on, but also listening to and vetting callers who had issues in their communities that needed solutions. I plan to take this experience directly into my work at the state Capitol to solve problems for constituents.
The relationship must be defined by collaboration and oversight. The legislature should not be a rubber stamp. While we must cooperate to pass a functional budget, the legislature's duty is to independently represent the people and provide necessary checks and balances to the executive branch.
Our greatest challenges are economic disparity and access to opportunity. This includes the crisis of affordable AND attainable housing, the strain on our infrastructure, and the constant threat to civil rights. We must work to ensure prosperity is shared, not reserved for a wealthy few.
Previous experience is beneficial, but real-world experience is essential. My background in journalism and consulting has given me more preparation. I know how to investigate problems, build consensus across sectors, and craft detailed, workable solutions.
Absolutely. Nothing gets done in the legislature without relationships. I will build rapport across the aisle where possible, not through compromise on my values, but through finding common ground on core issues like healthcare, infrastructure funding, small business support and education.
My sole focus right now is on winning the State Senate District 35 Special Election and delivering on my five-point plan. The people of South Fulton and Cobb County deserve a champion who is 100% committed to representing their needs in the State Senate.
I would introduce legislation to expand early voting access and restore Sunday voting hours across Georgia. I also believe general Election Day should be a holiday to allow more people to participate. Election administrators must prioritize maximum access for every eligible voter and eliminate intentional barriers to participation.
