Ericka Sanders is an associate judge on the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois.[1] Sanders was reappointed in 2011 and 2015.[2][3]

Sanders ran for election to the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court.
Primary: She ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on March 18, 2014.
General: She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 44.8 percent of the vote. She competed against Martin W. Siemer. [4][5][6] 

Evaluations

The Illinois State Bar Association and participating attorneys rated Ericka Sanders as Recommended for election in a 2014 poll.[7]

Education

Sanders earned her J.D. from the Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1998.[8]

Career

After law school, Sanders became a staff attorney with Land of Lincoln Legal Aid and went on to become an assistant public defender in Marion County, Illinois. Sanders has also worked as an assistant attorney general with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office in Springfield and the lead public defender in Marion County.[8]
