Erik Arroyo
Erik Arroyo (Republican Party) ran for election to the Florida House of Representatives to represent District 72. Arroyo did not appear on the ballot for the Republican primary on August 18, 2020.
Arroyo was selected by fellow city commissioners to serve as mayor of Sarasota, Florida in November 2021. He became the first Hispanic to serve in that position. At the time he assumed office, he was also the youngest person to serve as mayor of Sarasota.[1]
