Biography
Erik Helland earned a B.A. in biochemistry/molecular biology and a J.D. from Drake University. Helland's career experience includes working as a banker and a farmer.[1][2]

Helland ran in the 2012 election for Iowa House of Representatives District 39. Helland lost to Jake Highfill in the Republican primary on June 5, 2012.[3][4]
