Erik Holland (Nevada)
Erik Holland was a 2014 candidate for Mayor of Reno, Nevada. He ran unsuccessfully for the 2nd Congressional District of Nevada in 2012 as a Democrat.
Biography
Holland was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, the Art Students League of New York and the San Francisco Academy of Art College.[1] Erik Holland has been a Reno-based visual artist since he moved from Alaska in 2000. He has taught at VSAN, Rainshadow Charter High School, and Sierra Arts. He has been drawing political cartoons since 1996.[2]

Elections for the Mayor of Reno, Nevada took place on November 4, 2014. A primary election was held on June 10. Raymond "Pez" Pezonella and Hillary Schieve defeated DeLores Aiazzi, Robert Avery, Marsha Berkbigler, Michael Bertrand, Sean Burke, Chad Dehne, Thomas Fitzgerald, Brian Lee Fleming, Erik Holland, Eddie Lorton, Mark Markel, Ian Pasalich, Tony Perri, Larry Pizorno, Charles "Chuck" Reno, Idora Silver and Ken Stark in the primary election. Schieve defeated Pezonella in the general election.[3][4][5]

Holland ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Nevada's 2nd District. Holland sought the nomination on the Democratic ticket.
