Unity Party primary convention
Stephan Evans advanced from the Unity Party primary convention on April 4, 2020. He was on the ballot in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Noteworthy events
Underwood chose to qualify for the ballot through the party's state assembly process held virtually on April 18. Of the 2,736 delegate votes cast, Underwood received 25 or 1% of the vote. A candidate needed to earn at least 30% of the vote to appear on the primary ballot. On April 28, Underwood filed a lawsuit arguing that he had been denied a fair election citing alleged irregularities and emergency rules adopted by the party following the coronavirus outbreak.[1]
On May 7, District Judge Kandace Gerdes denied Underwood's request that he be added to the primary ballot.[2]
