Wilson was a nonpartisan District 8 representative on the Dallas City Council in Texas. First elected in 2015, Wilson lost a re-election campaign in the runoff election on June 10, 2017. Wilson served as deputy mayor pro tem during his time on the council.
Biography
Wilson received a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Texas at Arlington and an M.B.A. from Amberton University.[1]

The city of Dallas, Texas, held elections for mayor and city council on May 9, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was February 27, 2015. Early voting began on April 27, 2015.
All 14 city council seats were up for election.[4][5] In District 8, candidates included Subrina Lynn Brenham, Dianne Gibson, Clara McDade, Gail Terrell, Eric Lemonte Williams and Erik Wilson. Because no candidate received a majority in the general election, the top-two candidates — Gibson and Wilson — advanced to a runoff election on June 13.[6] Wilson was the winner.[7] Incumbent Tennell Atkins did not run for re-election.[8]
