  • Better Quality of Life for District 3 - From public safety and wellness to transportation improvements to creating more affordable housing options, I will use my term to create meaningful changes in the quality of life for District 3 residents.
  • Build a Stronger, More United District 3 and City of Atlanta - Now more than ever, we need leadership that will bring our communities together to solve the problems we're facing. I am committed to making sure that all of our residents and stakeholders have a seat at the table to build relationships that tackle our toughest issues.
  • Public Safety & Wellness - All District 3 and City of Atlanta residents deserve to feel safe and be well in their homes and anywhere else in our city. I look forward to hands-on work with my District 3 community residents, our first responders , business community and legislators on innovative, tangible solutions and partnerships to help our community feel safe now and in the long-term.
I am personally passionate about Criminal Justice, Education, Human Rights and Economic public policy.
Municipal offices, such as this one, have the unique power to directly impact the day-to-day quality of lives of constituents and stakeholders.
I look up to my mother, Barbara. She's the hard working, selfless, caring and intelligent. I try to follow her example in my work ethic, commitment to my family and community and as a mother.
I am a collaborator, which requires being able to listen but also being assertive in bringing the right people and ideas together to move them forward. I am also assertive, a problem-solver and possess a heart for serving others.
The core responsibilities should be to show up for your constituents in the community and at City Hall and to be their voice, acting in their best interest at all times.
I would like for the people of District 3 to remember my time in office, if elected, as one where they felt heard, seen and valued. I also want them to be able to point to tangible changes in their quality of life and neighborhoods that happened as a result of me serving them.
The first historical event that happened in my lifetime that I remember paying attention to and feeling impacted by was the horrific beating of Rodney King by LAPD officers in 1991. I was 6 years old at the time.
My very first job was in retail. I sold sneakers at a regional shoe store. I worked there for over a year while in high school.
"Decoded" by Jay-Z. He's one of my favorite artists, so I love this book because it gives insight into some of his personal thoughts behind the iconic lyrics.
Always wanting to help everyone I can!
The power to work with communities and neighborhoods to introduce legislation directly from voters and stakeholders.
While it can always be helpful, I don't think it needs to be a requirement nor is it an indicator of success.
It would be helpful for holders of this office to have experience working with various stakeholder groups such as neighborhood associations, first responders, current legislators, the business community and individuals and families across the spectrum - income, careers, education levels, etc.
