My name is Erika Phillips and I have lived in Turlock for 10 years, with deep roots in Stanislaus County. I am a business of Fit Kitchen Meal Prep in downtown Turlock. It truly was a dream come true last year when we opened this location of our small family business in Turlock - the community we love. I am running for City Council to further contribute to Turlock and do my best to represent you at city hall. Through my business, I have built strong relationships with residents and business owners by promoting healthy living. The support I have received has been incredible, and I want to give back by serving on the City Council. As a council member, I support the current efforts to improve roads, enhance public safety, maintain a balanced budget, enhance cyber security, and deliver efficient city services initiated by our mayor and council. With my background as an athlete, I have learned the value of hard work, cooperation, and discipline—qualities I will bring to city hall. I have a lot of energy to be able to take on this role and be a voice for my constituents. I promise to do my best to represent my district, with transparency and accountability.
  • Keeping our city safe. Being fully staffed with law enforcement at all times is essential for our community. Strengthen partnerships with law enforcement and first responders, ensuring they have the resources and training needed to protect our community. I will also invest in crime prevention programs and enhance neighborhood watch initiatives to foster a safer, more connected city for everyone.Meet
  • Meet the needs of Turlock residents. I will listen to Turlock city residents concerns through in person conversations, town halls and surveys, ensuring that their voices shape our priorities. By focusing on key issues like public safety, infrastructure, and addressing the homeless issue. I will implement targeted solutions that enhance the quality of life for all residents.
  • Continue current councils agenda to repair our roads. I will prioritize the assessment and identification of the most damaged and high-traffic areas. By allocating funds efficiently, we'll employ advanced materials and technologies to ensure durable repairs, while engaging with local communities for input on critical areas needing attention. Regular maintenance schedules will be implemented to prevent future deterioration, ensuring safer and more reliable roads for everyone.
Spending tax payers dollars wisely. I will ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent wisely by prioritizing transparent budgeting and rigorous oversight of all expenditures. By focusing on essential services and cutting unnecessary costs, I will maximize the impact of every dollar, delivering high-quality public services while maintaining fiscal responsibility, all while communicating the information to residents in a timely manner.
I look up to women that have started businesses from the ground up, women that have a story to tell about overcoming obstacles that came their way. My mother has been an influence in my life when it came to going for what you want in life. My mother has brought me as far as she can in life and let me know it is up to me create something that you could help others with and become successfully at it. which is what I did with my business.
I strongly believe you have to be honest, transparent with decisions being made to help our city, and being held accountable, and ensure that we continue to have open communication with residents so that they know they are being heard.
As an athlete I learned the value of hard work, cooperation, discipline, just some of the skills I will bring into city Hall.
Letting the younger generation know that they too can dream big, and make it into reality, and be whatever it is they want to be. As long as you put in the work, get rid of any distractions that may hold you back from living your life to your fullest potential; with hard work and discipline, anything can be achievable.
My first job was at Brenden Theatre in Modesto, Ca when I was 16 years old. I was there for 5 years.
