Compassion, servant leadership, and high ethical standards.
Working at Regal Cinemas from the age of 16 until high school graduation was quite an experience. It taught me valuable skills like customer service, time management, and teamwork. Dealing with different types of people in a fast-paced environment honed my communication skills and taught me how to handle various situations effectively. Additionally, working through high school demonstrates commitment and responsibility, qualities that are highly valued in any job including city council. Overall, my time at Regal Cinemas provided me with a solid foundation of skills and experiences that have served me well beyond my high school years and will definitely serve me well as your next city council woman.
There are several powers and responsibilities that may not be widely known: The city council holds legislative power to introduce, amend, and vote on ordinances and resolutions that govern the city. City council also participates in budget oversight. It also addresses concerns and advocates for solutions to local issues. Land use and zoning which impact development and community planning are also one one of the powers. Public safety is a key responsibility that where we work closely with the local police and fire department. Understanding these powers and responsibilities can empower constituents to engage more effectively with their local government and hold their elected officials accountable.
During this election season 2024, I believe that the people are looking for fresh perspectives and diverse backgrounds that can bring valuable insights and innovation to local government. Many successful city council members come from a variety of professional backgrounds, bringing unique skills and perspectives to the table. Ultimately, what's most important is a commitment to serving the community, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work collaboratively to address the challenges facing the city.
My background as a doctor and entrepreneur have taught me good communication skills, to demonstrate analytical thinking and problem-solving and strong leadership skills. Having financial literacy skills are crucial to overseeing city finances and making sound budgetary decisions. Upholding high ethical standards and demonstrating integrity. Knowing how to negotiate and compromise as well as being able to adapt to changing circumstances and challenges. I believe I check all the boxes voters are looking for. My goal is to effectively represent my constituents and contribute to the well being and prosperity of the community.
As a city council member, I would prioritize financial transparency and government accountability as essential principles of good governance. My views reflect a commitment to integrity, openness, and responsiveness in city governance, with a focus on trust, participation, and effective stewardship of public resources.
