Erin Leigh Waddell Garrett (Republican Party) is a judge of the Louisiana 1st Judicial District Court. She assumed office on January 1, 2015. Her current term ends on December 31, 2026.

Waddell Garrett (Republican Party) ran in a special election for the 3rd District judge of the Louisiana 2nd Circuit Court of Appeal. She lost in the special primary on March 26, 2022.

Education

Garrett received her undergraduate degree from Louisiana Tech University and her J.D. from Southern University Law Center.[1]

Career

Before becoming a judge, Garrett worked at a law firm she opened in 2010. She was also a mental health attorney for University Health (formerly known as Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center) from 2011 until becoming a judge. She previously worked for other private practices, and was a law clerk for former Chief Judge Pascal Calogero of the Louisiana Supreme Court.[1]
