Erious Johnson Jr. ran for election for judge of the Oregon 3rd Judicial District Circuit Courts. Johnson was on the ballot in the general election on November 8, 2022.
He was appointed to the court on February 2, 2022 by Kate Brown to replace Susan Tripp.[1]
Biography
Johnson received his bachelor's degree from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 1991 and his J.D. from Howard University School of Law in 2002. Johnson worked as a litigation associate at Sullivan and Cromwell for two years, as a litigator and trial attorney in the New York City Law Department in the torts division for four years, and clerked for the New York State Supreme Court for three years. He then spent three years working as the Civil Rights Director for the Oregon Department of Justice. From 2017 to 2022, he returned to solo practice in Salem, Oregon.[1]
