Ernest Wooton
Ernest Wooton (b. October 28, 1941) is a former Independent member of the Louisiana House of Representatives. He represented the 105th District after winning a special election in 1999 until 2012.
Wooton works in public relations for the oil industry. He served as Sheriff of Plaquemines Parish from 1984-1992. He worked in public relations for oilfield sales from 1979-1984, was an insurance agency manager from 1968-1978, and served in the United States Army from 1964-1966.
Wooton is a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, Acadiana Delegation, Jefferson Parish Legislative Delegation, Louisiana Republican Legislative Delegation, and Louisiana Rural Caucus.[1]
