Ernesto Sampson Jr. was a 2017 Republican candidate for District 72 of the Virginia House of Delegates.

Biography

Sampson received his B.A. in economics from the Virginia Military Institute and his M.B.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University. His professional experience includes owning a financial services business. He has served as the vice-chairman of finance for the Henrico County Republican Committee. He was a 2008 delegate to the Republican National Convention and an alternate delegate for the 2012 RNC.[1]

A primary election took place on June 13, 2017. The filing deadline for primary election candidates was March 30, 2017. The filing deadline for non-party candidates and candidates nominated by methods other than a primary was June 13, 2017.[4] Schuyler VanValkenburg (D) defeated Edward Whitlock III (R) in the Virginia House of Delegates District 72 general election.[5]
