Ernie Harris
Ernie Harris (Republican Party) was a member of the Kentucky State Senate, representing District 26. Harris assumed office in 1995. Harris left office on April 15, 2020.
Harris (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Kentucky State Senate to represent District 26. Harris won in the general election on November 6, 2018.
Harris retired from the legislature on April 15, 2020.[1]
Biography
Harris earned his B.A. in business administration from the University of Kentucky and his M.A. in management from Webster University. His professional experience includes working as a United Postal Service pilot, a dairy and tobacco farmer, and a commercial airline pilot. He served as a lieutenant colonel in the United States Air Force.

Elections for the Kentucky State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 20, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was January 28, 2014. Incumbent Ernie Harris ran unopposed in the Republican primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[2][3][4]

Harris defeated Democratic candidate John Black by a margin of 30,305 to 21,656 in the November 2 general election.[5]
In the May 18 primary election, Harris defeated opponent Don Godfrey by a margin of 9,109 to 3,626.[6]
