It is with this organization that her family continues to serve and advocate on behalf of victims across the country. Eryn has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, and is a recent law school graduate.
  • I will dedicate myself to bring about meaningful, long lasting solutions to our current public safety challenges. Retail theft, drug use, possession, and sales, and property crimes, to name a few, are not only a threat to the safety of the public, but also jeopardizes our local tax revenue. Brazen retail theft has resulted in shuttered businesses, job loss, and a marked decrease in shopping at our local store fronts—all of which has a direct impact on the tax revenue. Citizens, business owners and visitors deserve to feel safe, protected and confident that law enforcement agencies have the resources necessary to protect and serve.
  • I will make funding the police a priority. Law enforcement agencies play a critical role in a functional and just government. Current challenges experienced by law enforcement are impacting the quality of service and protection they are able to provide to the communities they serve. Defunding the police only serves to make the situation worse. By contrast, increased funding for police will improve the quality of policing with more training opportunities, and cutting edge equipment and technology. Funding the police will ensure staff availability and acceptable response times to 9-1-1 calls.
  • I am committed to ending homelessness. So many of our homeless are fighting the demons of drug addiction and mental health issues. Solving homelessness requires us to address these challenges once and for all, as well as to provide a path forward to self-sufficiency.
I’m personally passionate about public safety and law and order.

My extensive background in law enforcement and victim advocacy/victim rights has provided me with invaluable knowledge and expertise. I am ready to go to work on the big issues affecting our communities, such as crime, drugs, and the homelessness crisis.

I understand firsthand the devastating impact the current administration’s pro-criminal “laws of leniency” have on families of victims. Victim rights have been blatantly disregarded. Our families have been misled, betrayed, and revictimized.

My work as a peace officer with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation has allowed me to establish ongoing communication with local law enforcement leadership, and it has given me a clear understanding of the challenges they face in their pursuit to serve and protect. My law degree underscores my commitment to understanding crime, which is paramount to effective public safety. I will fight for the tools and resources they need to bring safety back to our communities. I will not stop until Prop 47 is finally recalled and our police are properly funded.

I am the one candidate who will fight for victim rights, truth in sentencing and funding the police. At the same time, I am also committed to ending homelessness.
I believe compromise is important, but not always necessary. What is necessary is that lines of communication remain open and that policymakers have productive discussions and debate key issues.
