Esther Wiggins Lyles
Esther Wiggins Lyles is a Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court judge for the 17th District in Virginia.[1]
Reappointment controversy
In January 2011, Lyles was reappointed to a six-year term. A number of constituents were outraged with this, based on Wiggins Lyles' termination of parental rights for two women, though they were never charged with child abuse or neglect.[2][3] Since her reappointment, a petition began circulating to removed the judge from office.[4]
