Elections for the New York State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on September 9, 2014. The general election took place November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was July 10, 2014. Ethan Irwin was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Kemp Hannon was unopposed in the Republican primary. Hannon also ran on the Conservative Party, Independence Party of New York State and Tax Revolt Party tickets. Hannon defeated Irwin in the general election.[2][3][4]
