Eugene "Gene" Katsanis
Eugene "Gene" Katsanis was a Republican candidate for District 9 representative on the Jefferson Parish School Board in Louisiana. He ran against incumbent Sandy Denapolis-Bosarge (R), whom he also faced in 2010, on November 4, 2014. Eugene "Gene" Katsanis lost the general election on November 4, 2014.
Katsanis was the District 9 representative from 1994 to 2010, when he was unseated by Denapolis-Bosarge.
Biography
Katsanis eared a bachelor's degree in journalism and public relations from Loyola University New Orleans in 1964. He worked as the director of public relations for the university from 1975 to 1981, when he became the vice president and account executive for LiD Group Advertising. In 1982, he left that job and became the owner of his own advertising firm, ekat Advertising & Public Relations.[1]

Funding
As of October 29, 2014, Katsanis had reported $6,666.93 in receipts and $1,347.54 in disbursements to the Louisiana Ethics Administration Program, which left his campaign with $5,166.87 on hand.[2]

Katsanis was endorsed by the Alliance for Good Government and the Jefferson Federation of Teachers.[3][4]
