Eugene Fair
Eugene "Gene" L. Fair was a judge on the Mississippi Court of Appeals from 2012 to 2019. He was appointed by Governor Haley Barbour on December 14, 2011, and joined the bench on January 1, 2012. He replaced retiring Justice William Myers.[1] Fair was re-elected on November 6, 2012, and his term expired on January 6, 2019.[2][3] Fair passed away on December 2, 2020.[4]
Education
Fair received both his bachelor's degree in journalism and his J.D. from the University of Mississippi.[1]
Career
Fair was a lieutenant commander of the U.S. Naval Reserve Judge Advocate General's Corps. He was in private practice in Hattiesburg before becoming a chancellor of the 10th Chancery District in January 2007. He was appointed to the Court of Appeals in December 2011.[1]
