Campaign themes

2014

Mach's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[1]

Religious Freedom

  • Excerpt: "The First Amendment of the United States Constitution states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…” I whole heartedly support the constitution."

Energy

  • Excerpt: "Some believe hydraulic fracturing will be the saving grace of our energy crisis; however, due to the harmful chemicals injected into the Earth during the process and the toxic chemicals released from the Earth during the process, I feel this “solution” may lead to other problems down the road. I firmly support the further exploration of non-fossil fuel energy sources."

Budget and Economy

  • Excerpt: "I’d like to see a moderate sized government. One that can control spending while making sure none of our citizens fall through the cracks to unacceptable living standards. Public assistance is a safety net not a career path. We need to implement time and aid limits in order to make sure no one abuses the system."

Education

  • Excerpt: "The problem with the funding system is that it is based on property values in each school district and levy revenues vary significantly from district to district. This is in direct violation to the state constitution which says the state will provide an equal and adequate system of schools."

Abortion

  • Excerpt: "Prevention isn’t always an option for one reason or another and life threatening circumstances don’t always allow for the option of adoption, so abortion has to remain on the table for these life threatening cases. (I do not believe abortion should simply be used as a form of birth control) I would have the State of Ohio support educational services as well as assistance programs concerning these alternatives."
