|A native Floridian, Eunic was raised by educators in Pinellas County who served in our country’s military. She learned the value of hard work and a great public education early on and earned her Bachelors and Master's degrees from the University of Florida, graduating at the height of the 2008 recession.
During the 2020 elections, Eunic led a team to help pass Amendment 2 - the ballot initiative in Florida that raised the minimum wage to $15 an hour.
Eunic is an adjunct professor at the University of Florida and an active member in the NAACP, Equality Florida, and the Pinellas County Democratic Party.
Eunic is running for State Senate to represent that community she grew up in, knows, and loves to shake up politics as usual and bring home solutions for all of us, not special interests. When elected, Eunic would be the first openly lesbian state senator in Florida’s history.- Economy: Nobody who works 40 hours a week should struggle to pay the rent and put food on the table. Eunic will work to protect the $15 minimum wage, ensure wage growth matches inflation, and guarantee all workers the choice to form or join a union. Eunic will fight to expand access to affordable housing.
- Environment: Pinellas county is buoyed by two beautiful bodies of water and dotted with some of Florida’s best public parks and trails. Eunic is committed to banning drilling off our coastal waters; considering well-researched plans for alternative transportation; and following the science to a cleaner, more sustainable future for Floridians.
- Education: As a product of Pinellas County Schools, Eunic knows first hand the value of a quality public education. Every school, no matter the neighborhood or zip code should be fully funded, our educators should be paid adequately, and college more affordable. Eunic will work to protect and expand programs like Bright Futures and Florida Prepaid.
