Sunshine Review contributors conducted a study of North Carolina school district websites from 2010 to 2013.
They researched to determine what type of information is available to the general public on these websites. The following page provides a snapshot of what they learned in the course of this research.

In July of 2012, Sunshine Review evaluated the ten largest school districts in North Carolina: Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Wake County Schools, Guilford County Schools, Cumberland County Schools, Forsyth County Schools, Gaston County Schools, Durham Public Schools, Buncombe County Schools, Robeson County Schools, and Union County Public Schools. These schools averaged a "B" in website transparency, the details are listed in the below chart.
