Eve L. Miller is a former judge on the Clackamas County Circuit Court in Oregon. The court has jurisdiction over Clackamas County and is located within the 5th Judicial District. Miller joined the court in June 1997 and retired from the bench on July 1, 2017.[1][2][3]

Judges of the Oregon Supreme Court, Oregon Court of Appeals and Oregon Circuit Courts are all selected in an identical manner. They are chosen in nonpartisan elections to serve six-year terms, after which they must run for re-election if they wish to continue serving.[4]

The chief judges of the circuit courts are appointed by the chief justice of the state supreme court to serve a two-year term.[4]

Qualifications
To serve on the circuit court, a judge must be:[4]

  • a U.S. citizen;
  • a state resident for at least three years;
  • a resident of his or her circuit for at least one year;
  • a state bar member; and
  • under the age of 75.

2010

Miller was re-elected to the Clackamas County Circuit Court in 2010 after running unopposed. She won with 98.69 percent of the vote.[5]

Miller earned a B.A. in political science from California State University in 1977 and a J.D. from the Northwestern School of Law in 1981.[2][6][7]
