I'm a mom, 22-years Buffalo Public Schools teacher, and union leader. I am running for North District Common Council to help families and business owners access the resources they need to build safe, healthy homes and communities!
1. Safe, Healthy Neighborhoods:
  • investing in public safety by addressing the root causes through mental health response, substance abuse services, workforce development, and youth recreation programs
  • addressing housing issues with the Tenants Bill of Rights, help for low/fixed income residents to maintain their homes, requiring more affordable housing in new development, and paths to homeownership
  • reducing impact on the environment through green infrastructure, protecting/restoring our waterways, and switching to greener energy

2. Thriving Business Districts

  • revitalize the business community and workers rights by attracting cooperatives and small business owners into the neighborhood with incentives, the same way we attract developers
  • ensure city services, like garage collection, snow removal, and street maintenance, are timely, routine, and efficient
  • invest in city forestry, sidewalks, and public transit to make business districts more attractive, walkable, and accessible

3. Resources for Families

  • connect residents with already existing programs by creating a public database so people in the community can easily find and connect with the services they need
  • enhance language access and disability services so everyone can receive needed services
  • identify unmet needs and work collaboratively with other levels of government and community groups to provide resources to expand on services and create new ones to match the needs of the community
