Ewing Thomas Kerr was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming. He was appointed to the court by President Dwight Eisenhower in 1955 and assumed senior status in September 1975. He served in this capacity until his death on July 1, 1992.[1]

Education

Kerr received a B.A. degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1923 and a B.S. degree from Central College of Oklahoma in 1923. He received his legal education by reading law.[1]

Professional career

Judicial nominations and appointments

Kerr received a recess appointment from President Dwight Eisenhower on October 22, 1955, to a seat vacated by Judge Thomas Blake Kennedy. Kerr was nominated on January 12, 1956, confirmed by the Senate on March 1, 1956, and received his commission on March 2, 1956. He assumed senior status on September 26, 1975, and served in that capacity until his death on July 1, 1992.[1] Kerr was succeeded in this position by Judge Clarence Brimmer.
