F. Hugh "Buddy" Larose is a judge of the 17th Judicial District, Division E in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. He was elected to this position on October 20, 2001, was sworn in to office on December 28, and took office the following January 1.[1][2][3] He was re-elected in 2014 for a term beginning on January 1, 2015, and expiring on December 31, 2020.[4][5]

As an unopposed candidate, he was automatically re-elected without appearing on the ballot. [5]

Education

Larose earned both his B.S. and J.D. from Louisiana State University. He was admitted to the bar in 1987.[6]

Career

Larose is a former law clerk of Judge Jerome J. Barbera III, who he began working for during the judge's first term in 1987. He is also a former Thibodaux city attorney and former public defender.[1]
