I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing from UTEP. I spent eight years working as a Financial Worker at the Texas Department of Human Services. Over the past eight years, I've been an active and engaged community leader, serving as the El Paso Neighborhood Coalition Chair for the last five years, serving all 90 city-registered neighborhood associations.

I've been a natural bilingual and bicultural leader for as long as I can remember, always working toward the common good with knowledge, values, and a strong work ethic. My deep connection to the community has instilled a sense of discipline, commitment, and responsibility. Over the past eight years, I've proven myself as a respected community leader and advocate, collaborating with city departments and public and private sector organizations. This work has earned me multiple City, State, and Congress recognitions.

I've proudly called District 7 home for 35 years. My husband and I have been married for 35 years, and we have three grown children who are thriving in their professional careers. We're also blessed with two beautiful grandchildren.
  • SAFER NEIGHBORHOODS

Tackle crime that still plagues parts of the District by supporting the El Paso Police Department (EPPD) in its goals, including: 1. Prioritizing the provisions of Police health care service. 2. Safeguarding Police well-being and mental health. 3. Supporting the Police Department recruitment plans. 4. Working with the EPPD on strategies to maintain low crime numbers.

I will be supportive of EPPD and community partnership programs and plans. It is necessary to review and enforce the traffic penalties for frequent speeding offenders.
  • STRONGER NEIGHBORHOODS 1.Let's welcome investment in all parts of District 7, supporting small businesses and encouraging economic development to expand District growth aligned to the surroundings. 2. I will include collective decision that impact communities. 3.Prioritizing public/private partnership to improve the District and the City's amenities will make the District more attractive. 4. We will hold regular community roundtable meetings (English/Spanish) to facilitate a better understanding of the City's ordinances and municipal code to empower District 7 constituents.
  • MORE AFFORDABLE NEIGHBORHOODS - Keep taxes low by creating more efficient city strategies, restructuring the public cost of new developments, expanding the tax base by attracting investment, and working to increase the property tax homestead exemption for fixed income households. - Prioritize affordable housing in established neighborhoods- Strategize infill development. - We will give all support to expand the City Grant Professionals Area. By allocating the proper budget to recruit skilled grant writers and distributors, these professionals can assist us in applying for state and federal housing grants, providing new home starter funds, and facilitate affordable housing acquisition for our constituents.
As the current president of the Corridor 20 Civic Association, I've gained extensive knowledge of city zoning ordinances and municipal statutes. I've developed strong negotiation skills through negotiations on rezoning cases and special permit applications, always striving for the most fair and favorable outcomes for all involved. I also have a deep understanding of the history of our area and the challenges we face with infrastructure, from streets and sidewalks to parks that need better equipment and maintenance.
One of my proudest accomplishments was leading the effort to bring the 2023 Neighborhood USA Conference to El Paso for the first time. We welcomed more than 650 Neighborhood leaders from across the U.S.A as well as from the Bahamas and Japan. The event generated over $650,000.00 in economic impact, with all downtown hotels and restaurants fully booked for four days. This was a great example of what we can achieve when we work together to benefit our City.

A transparent government means being open, honest and accountable to the public. It involves being truthful with the citizens and ensuring that proactive customer service is a top priority for my office.
Elected officials should continually evaluate and encourage public policy changes and adapt to a community that is constantly evolving.
