Fairfax County school construction bond issue, 2009
On November 3, 2009, county voters decided the Fairfax County school construction bond issue, determining whether a new group of schools construction and renovation projects would be funded through $232,580,000 of bonds in Fairfax County. The measure was approved on November 3, 2009.
The ballot measure provided that bond funds will be spent as follows:
- South County Middle School-$50 million
- Marshall High School-$100 million
- Planning for the renovation of Sandburg Middle School $2.5 million
The school system also planned for the bond to pay for $9.75 million in extra modular classrooms and $40.76 million in building expansions at eight elementary schools and one middle school.
