My name is Faith Kimbrough and I am a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Indiana, and the mother of one daughter, Kayla Kimbrough, who is currently serving in the Army National Guard. I attended Indiana State University where I studied Sociology and Crossroads Bible College where my focus was Organizational Leadership. I have been a precinct committeeman for District 14 for nearly 8 years and have worked on several campaigns. Currently, I work for a privately owned company as a Givings Success Coach where I help organizations with financial stability.

With over 24 years of customer service and success, I know how to lead a team that will inform and help the residents of Marion County record documents that are important to their lives. My drive and success are fueled, in part, by offering my services where needed and advocating for the community. Given my background, my politics, and professed values and ideals, there will be no doubt about my ability to always put the customer and their records first.

  • 1. EDUCATE the public on how the office can help you
  • 2. ASSIST groups like veterans with specialized paperwork
  • 2. IMPROVE customer service and outreach to the public
As it relates to public policy I am most passionate about gentrification.

Gentrification is a highly contested issue. Currently, Gentrification has the power to displace low-income families and prevent those families from moving into previously affordable neighborhoods. As the next Marion County Recorder, I want to make sure all deeds that have been digitized are indexed so residents can easily find their land documents. I want low-income families to have access to their deeds before they are displaced.
"The Marion County Recorder’s Office maintains permanent public records of property transactions between owners and makes those documents available to the public. Records include deeds, liens, mortgages, easements, certified survey maps, and more." cited by www.indy.gov/agency/marion-county-recorders-office
I look up to my daughter because she did something that I could never do. My daughter joined the Army National Guard and went through basic training. The things she had to do to pass I don't think I could ever do at the age of 21. I commend her and am very proud of her for making history in our family as the first female to join the Army. My daughter is my SHERHO.
I believe the core responsibilities of the Marion County Recorder are:

Makes a complete, accurate, and permanent record of every document
Maintains permanent land records, retains them in archival form, and
making them constantly accessible to the public.
Ensures that every document received is accurately filed, recorded and
indexed.
Serves on the county’s RECORD COMMISSION which authorizes the
retention of county records and determines when or how these
government records may be disposed of.
Collects fees for documents in the county’s general fund
Maintains an accurate record of all monies appropriated to the Recorder’s
office for its operation.
Performs all accounting functions necessary to the operation of the

Recorder’s office including preparation of annual budgets and reports,

I would like to leave the legacy of being the one who was known for educating everyone who didn't know what the Recorder's office did overall and its functions.
I believe people should be more aware of what documents other than the deeds they can file or record and make public.
For example, they can file-a-uniform-commercial-code-ucch, record-a-military-discharge, file-a-mechanics-lien, record-to-do-business-as-dba, remove-a-deceased-person-from-title and much more.
NO, this office needs someone who stands for the people over politics. When residents come into the Recorders office all of their needs should be met. Residents deserve a trusted, experienced professional like me in this position. They need to know that their documents will be recorded with accuracy and protected and that has nothing to do with the government or politics.
Expertise in leadership, customer service, advocacy, time management, accounting, attention to detail, accuracy, and coaching abilities I believe will be most helpful for the holder of this office.
