My name is Farzeen Bham. Born and raised in Brookhaven, I come from an immigrant family who looked to find a better life in America. I am currently a student at Stony Brook University. As well as a president's secretary and board member of the Turkish American religious foundation. Public service and helping others has always been a part of my life.

I always believed public service was the best way to help your community. I looked to volunteer as much as I could, and I saw the need for a new voice on my local school board. With that I ran for the Longwood School Board of Education. I ran a positive issue based campaign to bring real representation to our minority community to the board.

Running against incumbents, I built a coalition of students, parents and community members and received 850 votes. Unfortunately I lost that election but it gave me a real insight into public service.

I’ve also been the Brookhaven Town Young Democratic Chair, empowering young adults to get involved in our local party. As well as the Suffolk County Community College Ammerman Campus Student Government President. To help my peers as much as possible.

I have also looked to volunteer throughout my life to help people. From non profit organizations to my religious institution. This year I have been proudly awarded the President's Volunteer Award by President Biden.
