Felipe Reyna was a judge on the Texas Tenth District Court of Appeals. Governor Perry appointed him to this position in 2003 and he was elected on November 2, 2004.[1] His term expired on December 31, 2010.[2]
2010 election
Reyna was defeated by Al Scoggins in the Republican primary election.[3]

Education
Justice Reyna was born in 1945 in Texas. From April of 1963 to April of 1969, he served in the Naval Reserve. He received his bachelor's (1968) and J.D. (1972) degrees from Baylor University. He is now married and has four sons.[1]
Career
Justice Reyna began his legal career in 1972 as a criminal prosecutor. He was appointed the McLennan County Criminal District Attorney in 1977. He lost a re-election bid to Vic Feazell in the 1982 Democratic primary.[4] In 1983, he founded the firm Reyna & Reyna, P.C. with his wife. He worked as a lawyer until his appointment to the Court of Appeals in 2003.[1]
Judicial record
Justice Reyna was among the majority and authored the opinion for No. 10-07-00123-CV. The case was dismissed by 19th District Court Judge Ralph Strother. The 10th District reversed him, ruling that recreational law permits a claim of gross negligence over a natural condition if the condition is not open and obvious.
All nine Supreme Court Justices voted to reverse the decision of Justice Reyna.[5]
