Ferial Masry was a Democratic candidate for District 37 of the California State Assembly. The general election was on November 2.

Masry was defeated by Republican Jeff Gorell in the November 2 general election.[1]

Issues

Taxes

Though Masry remains quiet on the subject in 2010, in 2006 she supported ballot propositions amounting to billions of dollars in tax increases. According to her 2006 campaign website, she supported Propositions 1A through 1E (spending measures) as well as Propositions 86, 87 ans 88 which intended to increase cigarette, business income and parcel taxes.[2]

Single Payer Healthcare

On Masry's 2004 campaign Website, she supported "the move toward a single payer system that provides healthcare to all Californians"[3].
