  • PROUD VETERAN I am proud to have followed many Americans before me to secure the American dream for others by joining the U.S. Navy at age 17 and serving on the USS Groton fast attack submarine.
  • I am humbled and honored to receive the DFL endorsement to represent District 17 in the Minnesota Senate.
  • I have lived in Senate District 17 for over 30 years and have held numerous leadership positions including as a Willmar City Council member.
Healthcare is a top priority for me. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown us that now is the time to build a stronger Minnesota together, working with our unions, educational partners, small businesses, and community leaders.

Education. Our district 17 touches almost 20 education districts and hosts a leading community college in the state. We have to promote education from pre-school to beyond so that Minnesota maintains its role of providing a competitive and educated work force.

Jobs. We have to encourage and promote new growth in business at every level-large, medium and small. When they are successful so too are Minnesotans. I want to encourage that with you in Senate District 17.

Agriculture. Small family farms, hard working and caring Minnesotans are building a better Minnesota. We have to preserve that Minnesota way of life. District 17 needs a leader and a person who will promote agriculture for the world.

Diversity. Greater Minnesota is better because of our diversity and better because we are working together.
