Ferris D. Lebous
Ferris D. Lebous is a justice of the Broome County Supreme Court in the 6th Judicial District of New York. He was elected to this court for a term that began in 2006.[1][2]
Education
Lebous received his undergraduate degree from the University of New York at Binghamton in 1976 and his J.D. degree from The Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law of Yeshiva University in 1979.[1]
Career
Lebous has worked as: a Town Attorney for Sanford and Dickinson, NY; Special Counsel for the City of Binghamton and Broome County; Counsel of the Binghamton/Johnson City Joint Sewage Treatment Board; and a Village Attorney of Whitney Point and Windsor, NY. He then worked as an Assistant (and Senior Assistant) Broome County District Attorney from 1980 to 1982. He joined the Binghamton law firm of Pearis, Ressiguie, Kline, Barber & Lebous in 1982 and continued to practice there until his judicial appointment in 1998. Lebous was then appointed a judge of the New York Court of Claims. In 2006, he joined the Supreme Court.[1]
