Finance Committee, West Virginia House of Delegates
The Finance Committee is a standing committee of the West Virginia House of Delegates.
Per the House Rules, West Virginia House of Delegates committees are assigned by the Speaker of the House, unless the House orders otherwise. The Speaker must designate a chair for all standing committees and may also designate a vice chair. Additionally, the Speaker serves as an ex officio voting member and chair of the Rules Committee. A majority of committee members constitutes a quorum.[1]

Function
According to the House Rules, the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee handles the following subject areas:
“ | (a) Tax and revenue measures increasing or decreasing the revenue or fiscal liability of the State; (b) collection of taxes and other revenue; (c) annual Budget Bills and supplementary appropriation bills; (d) proposals reducing public expenditures; (e) proposals relating to the principal and interest of the public debt; and (f) claims against the State.[2][3] | ” |
