Alabama: Alabama has again proved to be the most expensive state in which to run for the Supreme Court, according to the final financial reports submitted by January 31. All told, the nine candidates for the Alabama Supreme Court spent $4.3 million on the 2010 election season. The surprising news is that the three races for the court this year cost LESS than one race for the court in 2008. The total expenditures that year were $4.5 million.[1]
