Fiscal Committee, New Hampshire State Legislature
The Fiscal Committee is a standing joint committee of the New Hampshire General Court.
Per state statute, the committee is made up of five members from the House and five from the Senate. The chairs of the House Finance Committee and Senate Finance Committee serve on the joint committee and appoint two members each. The Speaker of the House appoints the remaining two House members and the President of the Senate appoints the remaining two Senate members. The chair of the House Finance Committee serves as chair of the Fiscal Committee.[1]

Function
According to NH Rev Stat § 14:30-a, the Fiscal Committee shall:
“ | consult with, assist, advise, and supervise the work of the legislative budget assistant, and may at its discretion investigate and consider any matter relative to the appropriations, expenditures, finances, revenues or any of the fiscal matters of the state. ... The fiscal committee shall consider recommendations proposed to it by the legislative performance audit and oversight committee established under RSA 17-N:1. The fiscal committee shall adopt all recommendations proposed to it as provided in RSA 17-N:1, III by the performance audit and oversight committee unless the fiscal committee refuses by unanimous vote to adopt such recommendations.[1][2] | ” |
