Five Omaha lawyers to fill vacancies in Douglas County

Nebraska: On Friday June 24, Governor Dave Heineman appointed five Omaha lawyers to fill vacancies on the Nebraska Court of Appeals and in Douglas County.
Nebraska Court of Appeals
- Michael Pirtle was appointed to fill the vacancy on the Nebraska Court of Appeals. He will be former Judge Theodore Carlson's replacement. Judge Carlson passed away on April 16 after a battle with cancer.[1][2][3]
District Court
- Timothy Burns appointed to the Douglas County District Court.
- Duane Dougherty appointed to the Douglas County District Court.
- They will fill vacancies created by the retirements of Judges Gerald Moran and Patricia Lamberty.[3]
County Court
- Sheryl Lohaus appointed to the Douglas County Court.
- Marcela Keim appointed to the Douglas County Court.
- They will fill vacancies created by the retirements of Thomas McQuade and Stephen Swartz.[3]
