The Children's Right No to be Abused did not appear on the November 4, 2008 statewide ballot in Florida as an initiated constitutional amendment. The proposal's sponsor was a PAC, Protect Our Children chaired by Michael Sahm.
Summary
Initiative 96-08 would have established terms of release for convicted child abusers, compiled list of suspected and convicted child sex offenders and required background checks for all child care workers. Additional penalties for convicted child sex abusers. Would have clarified existing laws.
