The Same Service, Same Fee Initiative was proposed as an initiated constitutional amendment for the November 4, 2008 ballot in Florida, but the measure ultimately did not qualify for the ballot.
The proposal would have changed the law in Florida that allows a physician to charge different prices for the same health care provided to different patients, by requiring doctors to charge the same fee for the same health care service, procedure or treatment. It would have required that doctors charge all patients the lowest fee they charged any patient, but would not have limited the ability of physicians to treat patients for no charge.[1]

"Floridians for Patient Protection" sponsored the initiative.[2]
Path to the ballot
The initiative was approved for circulation by the Florida Secretary of State. The Florida Attorney General initially rejected the measure saying that it violated Florida's single-subject rule, but this ruling was overturned by the Florida Supreme Court.[3] The group collected 434,358 out of the 611,009 valid signatures that were required to qualify for the 2008 ballot. In the end, it did not qualify.[4]
