2016
Griffin's campaign website highlighted the following issues:
“ |
Economy & Jobs I am very pro business – however, giant corporations must not be allowed to take advantage of the loopholes in our tax code. If Big business wants to do business in our state, they must be held to the same standards that you and I do as individual taxpayers. Saving Our Hospitals Each and every state house race is crucial to ending this nonsensical and stubborn hold out, including and especially the 145th district. One of the first actions I will take as your representative in Atlanta is to tirelessly lobby for Medicaid expansion in Georgia. We cannot continue to allow our elected representatives to ignore the most basic and fundamental duty of their offices, which is to protect the life, liberty and pursuit of happiness of each and every citizen of our great state. I will vigorously battle those who ignore our sick, play games with those in pain and try to make political TV commercials on the backs of those who needlessly die every day. Women & Families A woman’s right to choose is one of the bedrock principles of the Democratic Party, and I will continue to fight every day of my term in office, to ensure that women in the state of Georgia are afforded their constitutional rights. I will vehemently oppose any right wing legislation that is aimed at intimidating, coercing or denying the women of this state, their ability to make the best possible choices for their families. Minimum Wage If elected, I will support a phased plan to gradually increase Georgia’s minimum wage over a five year span, eventually getting to $12 an hour. By gradually increasing this number over a few years, it will allow small businesses to prepare and budget for their payroll adjustments. Opportunity School Districts I strongly support our local teachers, administrators and superintendent and I trust our community to elect the Board of Education that we see fit. We know our community far better than a select few powerful politicians in Atlanta. I will continue to work alongside our local officials, so that the important decisions about our children’s education stays local.[9] |

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
