Forest grew up playing on the dirt mounds at Basset Creek Park and eating at Sweet Taste of Italy. An alum of Cooper High School, Forest knows Crystal.

Forest worked as a park ranger with the Army Corps of Engineers and National Park Service, then went on to receive his master's degree from the U of MN in Natural Resource Sciences and Management. After graduating, Forest, his wife Jessi, and their dog Oslo bought a house in the Forest neighborhood of Crystal.

Forest currently works for the National Park Service as an outdoor recreation planning manager and is an at-large commissioner for the Crystal Parks Commission. With a passion for democracy, he has served as an election judge for every primary and general election since 2018 and serves as an assistant head judge.
  • I am the only candidate who has the advanced education and professional experience in project managment and planning needed to tackle the tough development issues Crystal is facing.
  • I am the only candidate who will tuly champion creating an inclusive city and is endorsed by Crystal Residents for Change and Council Members Budziszewski, Cummings, and Kiser who are working to create a more welcoming city and work against discrimination.
  • Growing up in the community I have a deep connection to Crystal and will always work to further the long-term interests of our residents.
I am most passionate about reducing resident tax burden through greater commercial development, supporting our trusted public safety efforts, creating a light rail plan that works for crystal, making our streets safer with better intersection and trail design, and better managing our urban forest in the wake of emerald ash borer.
