A Forest Township Fire Tax Levy Increase proposal is on the May 7, 2013, election ballot in Cheboygan County, which is in Michigan.
If approved, this measure authorizes the Township of Forest to increase its property taxes by 1 mill ($1 per $1,000 of assessed valuation) for 5 years in order to fund fire protection services in the Township. The estimated first year revenue from this tax is $26,000.[1]

| “ | Shall the 15 mill tax limitation imposed under Article IX, section 6 of the Michigan Constitution on general ad valorem taxes within Forest Township, Cheboygan County, Michigan, be increased by 1.0 mills ($1.00 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) for the period of 2013 through 2017 inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds to be used by the Township for fire protection within said Township and shall said Township levy such increase in millage, or any portion thereof, during such period which millage, if levied in full, will raise in the first year of said levy an estimated $26,000.00[1][2] | ” |
